I finally finished by body extension project for my Foundations 3D class. I worked on it for four days, and even pulled my first all nighter to get it down along with my other projects. I spent almost $30 dollars on picture frame wire to wrap around the newspaper rods my friend helped make. And guess how long it took for my teacher to look it over, take a photo with my in it, and ask a few questions about it. Under 5 minutes. I had a hell of a lot less time to work on it than pretty much everyone else in the class and wasn’t even able to finish it to my final design because I ran out of wire! And all I get is less than 5 minutes. Sometimes, I really, really, really hate my Foundation classes. And I know others feel the same.
Thankfully, the final project is not that hard for me and I finished pretty much half of it. We are working on mapping, in an artsy kind of way. I took my backpack, recorded what was put in it and the time it was, when it was taken out, where I did it, and why. So now I am working on creating a few maps that show my progress over the day. I have day and Tuesday to work on it, including this weekend. I should be able to get it done on time.
I recently took pictures of the second day of Chanukah at the Hillel House on Campus for the paper.

Lighting a candle

Watching the outside Menorah burn. Was a very nice ceremony.

I also took a picture of the Republican Club’s Christmas tree next to the pond.

We also got a Christmas tree for our floor. Some of the boys went out and cut one down for us.
I love looking out my window everyday and seeing the snow on the ground. I really get a feeling for Christmas out here. The scenery is just so beautiful.

We also had a Christmas door decorating contest on our floor. Even though ours didn’t win, I really like the concept of it. I based it off of my love of the Coca-Cola Santa covers around this time. The Santa is a traditional looking Santa and I just love those types of images and history. Reminds me all about the act of giving because you love that person, not because you have to.
On the topic of Christmas presents, I am looking into getting the Aperture program for my MacBook because it has all I need to edit my photos and it looks cheaper than the Adobe Creative Suite. I know I can probably just get the Photoshop, but I might as well also get the Adobe InDesign. I’m still looking into it all.
Don’t forget to put your mark on my Guest Map so I know who comes and visits my page. Just your first name and whether you like my blog is good enough for me!
I was watching an interactive story on The Washington Post yesterday titled “Tokyo Stories”
talking about the difference between American and Japanese bloggers. They said the Japanese was the largest language to be written in blogs, and English coming along second. They also said that while Americans write to gain attention and pageviews, the Japanese write for a small audience of people or friends and do so to fit in. I see myself like the Japanese. I write mainly for a small group of people who know me and the ones looking for a photo blog and are interested enough to stay.
