I'm sorry about the long hiatus, but nothing really happened this summer. It rained most of it, my job decided that it couldn't give me enough hours, and I didn't really get into the Historical Society photos until the end of the summer. I dropped off 90% of those with my teacher (the rest are being developed) and I got a beautiful Extreme III 4GB CompactFlash Card. I haven't used it with my camera yet, but I'll format it this weekend when I have time.
I'm currently on campus early to help people move in this weekend and I get to come with free board and $21 to buy food. It gives me the opportunity to arrive early, set up my room, get all my books, and get to know where my classes are before the rush of all the rest of students. I have a break tomorrow, but Sunday I will be really busy moving in Freshmen for 3 hours; on Monday I'll get to help my roommate move in and finally have this room in working order.
This Wednesday I got back from a week long trip with my boyfriend T. He flew me down to Georgia and we drove across the South to Oklahoma and visited 6 states along the way and it was such an amazing trip! I think that everyone, if they can, should take a road trip across America, if not some part of it. Not only is it an American tradition/past time/ experience, it is an opportunity to see how beautiful and amazing this country truly is. Up North I am so used to seeing car after car and exit after exit, but when you start heading to Oklahoma from Arkansas and Tennessee, it gets really flat with few cars and fewer exits. I know I have a ton of photos of farm land and animals, but I also took some photos of T driving, Graceland, Beale St. in Memphis, Sloss Furnaces in Birmingham, and an amazing sunset in Arkansas. Once I have those photos developed, I'll try to post the best ones.
So that is it for now. I'll keep you updated on the photos and upcoming assignments.
Ciao!
