Yeah, I guess I forgot to mention that...

I guess I forgot to mention a couple of things last post. I finished my appropriation of the Annie Leibovitz Christo Javacheff portrait. My Dad was a good sport being wrapped up from head to toe and standing while I took some shots. I think they came out really well and looked very close to the original, almost like it was a continuation of the series. I just need to get the photo printed and then present it to class. Oh, and because I chose a location that was viewable from the road, we got a lot of people who slowed down to see what we were doing and even a honk! Haha! My Dad got a kick out of that.

I had an interview today with a photographer who is looking for an assistant next year for an internship. I would be helping him with all aspects of the photo shoot from holding lights and setting them up, changing memory cards, moving equipment, etc. He does a lot of editorial shoots for magazines that include professors and professionals and such. I am so excited about doing it. He still had the rest of today and tomorrow for interviews, but I think we really clicked. He went to school for photojournalism and is kinda into things that I am looking at photography wise. And he liked that I had a broad range in my photography and still had a lot to learn. I also helped fix his website because to get to his portfolio he had a pop up screen and it would be blocked on mine and other people's computers without a notice. So I just told him to have the front page go directly into the website and that it wasn't necessary for him to have to make two windows open. He agreed and I added a point to my interview score, lol!

I was going to go to a fencing practice and interview a senior for my article, but as I was heading out from the Collegian, I walked into a huge rain and thunderstorm. So i decided to wait till tomorrow and as I was heading back to my dorm, my vision goes white for a second and I hear the loudest crack EVER erupt over me. So I said 'screw this' and ran back to the collegian to wait it out. I eventually had to walk back in the thunderstorm that is still going on now, but it wasn't as bad when I first walked out. So tomorrow I am really crunched for time to get the interview. We'll see what happens. I also need to get back in touch with the EMTs and just do an interview instead of trying to get a shot of them working on someone. I just don't have time to do that and there aren't enough weeks left for it to come out.

I am also working on a Opinion column about the TIME green color with the Iwo Jima photo manipulated so that the American flag is a tree. I think that it was a really bad decision on TIME's part and has angered many veterans across the US.

So that is it. I have got to finish the rest of my homework. And for anyone interested in street photography, this is a must read. (tip from Chris Week's blog)

Ciao!

Hmmm, I still have to finish my street photography assignment. Niffty article, though. It's hard to shoot in the public now, especially in NYC, when you have a team, you are required to have a permit. To shoot a freakin' photo. I don't know what this world has come to. -__-;
