I'm finally back at school. It's good to be back and getting used to things again. My classes are going well and I like the new pockets of free time that I have and no more night classes! To just get the day over with is so great. I'm currently looking for a job that is flexible and not totally boring, but so far no luck. I have only done one assignment for the Collegian, but it has really set a goal for the rest of the semester: To get the photo no one else can get. I was sent out to find a news feature photo and came upon some kids doing skateboarding and bmx tricks outside the Fine Arts Center. I thought I had taken some great photos and Editor B agreed, but he emphasized the importance of making sure I get all the angles covered. If I had just gotten lower and to the side a little more, the photos would have been "THE SHOT" that no one has. And I totally agree. I'm am getting better at becoming aware of my surroundings and I know I have definitely improved since last semester. Anyways, here are the photos I took on Wednesday. I thought they were going to be in the paper, but I guess either they couldn't fit, or the news behind them (students enjoying a break in the crazy weather) was past due.

This is the one that Editor B chose for the paper, with a little cropping to emphasize the subject.

And so that's it so far. I'm waiting for new assignments and carrying my camera just in case something happens. I hope this finds you all well.
P.S. Random thing that happened to me. I was bored earlier this week and Googled my name to see what articles came up and I found this get ready for college website and they used my first article in my home newspaper to use as a reference. It's so awesome to have my writings utilized that way.
