Frustration

I know I only just posted the entry about the EMT story yesterday, but I've been working on it for almost 3 weeks now and trying to get THE SHOT has been more difficult that I originally thought. It's just that no one is getting hurt! And today I was excited about going to a concert with them because it is more likely that someone will get hurt. But the Collegian was only able to get two ticket for the event and they have to be given to the reporter and photographer attending the concert. I wouldn't be shooting the concert, but because I have to carry around a camera, I might as well be, says the concert people's rational. Meanies... Hopefully I can go to another concert next week (ie. They'll give us more tickets, otherwise I'm screwed) and get some shots in.

I'm also going to see if I can ride along with the student fire engine in the town to get the photos I need. Hopefully this won't make my situation anymore complicated in terms of going through the fire department and reassuring them I'm not going to get in anyone's way.

All I ask is that you pray that my photo essay comes out ok in the end. I really really just don't want to let my editors or the people on the EMT squad down by not producing a really good finished product. *sigh* Journalism is so frustrating. But, I love meeting new people and telling a story. Can't have one without the other I guess.
